Digital Antenna 'Hybrid 2.0' 32 Element (Bird Proof) - Don't get left behind with the Grandma's!
Product Description
Here are all the specs of the Hybrid 1.0, The Hybrid 2.0 has all of the below + more.
The Hybrid is the latest technology when it comes to receiving High Quality, High Definition TV picture. This digital antenna is superior in design, quality, technology and receives both digital and analogue signals..
Key Features / Specifications
• +16db gain
• Rust free Aluminium elements
• DBA approved connections
• Log Periodic, receives all channels 0 – 69 digital and analogue
• Horizontal or vertical polarisation Suitable for both/all regional and capital cities
• Covers full spectrum of TV channels, digital and analogue (0-900Mhz) Australia wide
• Is easily installed by a novice
The HYBRID has bird proof elements! “The elements are too thin for birds to sit on.”
• A good old antenna industry saying is: "birds are good for business". Traditional antenna’s plastic and elements break from birds (especially cockatoos QLD's largest parrot) sitting on the elements. When elements break this effects signal gathered resulting in eventual antenna replacement.
The HYBRID has plastic free element connections. “They don’t rely on deteriorating plastics that traditional antennas use.”
• Traditional antennas use plastic to hold elements in place which eventually gets brittle resulting in element failure over time as the element sits on the antenna shaft, or birds break it off.
The HYBRID gains superior reception. “The Hybrids have a whopping +16db gain!”
• Traditional antennas are either 13 to 20 element depending on where you live with only a gain rating of 7-12db or 12-15db respectively. “The Hybrids have a whopping +16db gain!”
The HYBRID is a smaller design. “They’re about half the size of a traditional metropolitan antenna.”
• Hybrids are a small design, making them less of an eye saw. Proud home owners can now look up without seeing a huge dangly chunk of metal on their roof. Whilst all emphasis of the Hybrid 2.0 has been put on signal performance a bonus is that these digital antennas are actually close to transparent!.. are less obtrusive and cluttery.
The HYBRID has features to receive channels that other same style:log periodic antennas don’t.
• Typical Log Periodic Antennas only receive bands 2-5 (Channels 6-69) meaning that metropolitan consumers will not receive ABC analogue. HYBRIDS come with two optional screw in elements for metro areas to receive band 1. With analogue still only phasing out in 2013 in metropolitan areas (capital cities) ABC analogue is still a highly watched channel.
HYBRIDS are highly directional “Can be installed by a novice without technical equipment to find the best possible signal.”
• This means that if you're one of hundreds of consumers installing this antenna yourself without technical equipment you just 'copy your neighbours and point!' (The antenna still performs amazingly even if its slightly off allignment)
Advice given to a customer: "As you indicated in the photo you sent us a 'J bar' will go on your fascia board anywhere that you choose allowing you to then fix your new digital antenna. For uhf signals you're best to put your 'J bar' somewhere where it is going to face through as little tree line as possible - I see you have quite alot of trees around your house ) and if you think of light bending in water (when the spoon looks bent in a bowl of water) - tv signals (especially uhf) have a hard time bending over mountains / trees so put it as far back and high as possible from the direction it needs to face! (These are your best tips for getting the most out of your new digital antenna when you do not have a signal meter!)"
"Hi Cable magic, what fantastic service. Yes I would like to proceed with the digital antenna kit, including the masthead amplifier. The only thing I need to raise is that I think I will have to run the cable down the outside of the house and back up through the floor. I am not sure about where to put the pole. I am pretty sure I can find somewhere to bolt the j-bar I have enlcosed a photo of the front of the house. Maybe you could suggest a location. The photo of the sitting room shows the rabbits ears currently being used."-Garry, VIC
Original Enquiry:
"Due to the switchover to digital TV in the district I need to instal an outdoor TV Antenna at my beach house in Sandy Point (South Gipplsand near Wilsons promontory). I am interested nyour kit for a single outlet however due to the location I need to take into account the following:
1. It is on the coast and subject to salty air
2. It is some distance from the nearest ransmitter and I will need a masthead amplifier
3. A friend in the business suggests I get an all band 16 dB gain antenna
4. I will need a full kit inlcuding cable ties, pvc tape and instructions for connecting the antenna to the amplifer and cable etc.
Can you please advise of price and any issues I may need to take into account
I have a digital box and an indoor rabbits ears antenna. The digital box can detect the signal but the signal strength is only sufficent to pick up SBS TV - hence the need for an external antenna. "-Garry, VIC
