HDMI cable was developed back in 2002 by the HDMI group. Since then there have been several versions of HDMI cable released. Version 1.0 December 2002, this first version was the pioneer of combined uncompressed audio and video on the one cable, eliminating the clutter at the back of TV cabinets Version 1.1 May 2004, this version allowed for copy protection of DVD audio. Version 1.2 August 2005, Allowed for 1 bit audio support to allow for Super Audio CDs (SACD) providing up to eight channels of digital audio. Version 1.2a Consumer Electronic Control standards implemented. Version 1.3, Update included, increased bandwidth to 320MHz / 10.2Gbps, support for deep colour of billions of colour, allowance for lossless audio decoding and HDMI 1.3a also allows for miniature connectors for connection to other devices such as digital cameras. | ||
